QI-PI Project Award Information

Do you have a great Quality or Process Improvement project you’d like to share with your peers?

Share your “best practice” while also competing for an award recognition from the CNM Quality and Process Improvement Sub-Unit. Project(s) could be those you implemented on your own, as a member of a team, or projects you led or supported for your staff. There are lots of great nutrition projects out there. Now is your time to share and shine!

You must complete the online application in its entirety and follow the specific guidelines to be eligible. Please also note the extra expectations if your project is selected.

The due date for the 2019 Award Program submissions is March 1, 2019.

Award Guidelines:

The following are ineligible to submit: QPI Award Committee members listed as the Primary Contact on the application and serving as the project lead

The following are eligible to submit: CNM members (both active and student), CNM Executive Committee members, non-CNM members, and staff or direct co-workers of QPI Award Committee members. (Note: If projects are received from QPI Award Committee members’ staff or co-workers, it will be considered a conflict of interest and that individual QPI Award Committee member will recuse themselves from judging that application. Average scores will be used for award results ranking.)

The “Primary Contact” on the application must be a project team member as well as a current member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

In the case of a tie, the QPI Award Committee will use additional project analysis to determine a sole 1st place winner and the Top 10 winners.

Work (project outcomes) should be current and not >2 years from the time of submission.

Work is allowed to have been presented/published elsewhere within the past year.

Award Expectations of award recipients:

o The 1st place recipient (active member) will receive free registration to the CNM symposium and receive an award at the symposium in front of the attendees. Winner should try at all possible to be able to attend the symposium or send a representative.  However, attendance at the spring symposium is not a requirement.  The student 1st place receipient will be acknowledged during Symposium.

o The 1st place project along with the top 10 projects (active members) will be expected to create a professional poster for display at the symposium. The poster should be formatted to a 2 foot by 3 foot poster. The top 5 student award recipients will be expected to prepare a poster for display.  You may use your facility’s template or you can use the CNM template (to be provided later). Posters will need to be shipped to the symposium venu if poster authors are unable to attend the symposium in person.  Attendance is not required.
